A Chill in the Air
It seems that after the horrendous summer heat that winter is finally here. Today (Tuesday) is a typical Sydney winter day with clear blue skies, and a fresh breeze from the south-west with a hint of snow in the air. I reckon there will be snow on the upper mountains if this weather continues for the next few days.
In the meantime, Wendy and Nick will be in for a shock when they return next week from the US summer. I'm looking forward to my trip north at the end of next week although I am guessing that Wollumbin will definitely be chilly in the mornings. Keep the heater on Chris!

A Jolly Outing
Charlie, who is now on his L-plates, wanted to go for a long practice drive so we decided to visit the Hare Krishna farm at Millfield in the Hunter Valley.
Heading out in the QEIII we cruised up the Putty Road, stopped at Garland Valley for some lunch and then via Broke and Wollumbi to Millfield. The farm is in a lush valley and although not as big as the farm at Mt Warning it has a nice atmosphere to it. There were some Indian lads in the temple and we only stayed long enough to have a quick look around as it was getting dark rather quickly in the valley.
We returned home via the M3 freeway and stopped at Tony and Jan Sheridan's for a cuppa and a chat as I had not seen them for about 10 years. It was nice to catch up again.
All in all, about 470 kms practice for Charlie and a great day and one we will remember.

Plans
The plans are in train for my next trip to Wollumbin. Heading out on the 24th June and should arrive early 25th for a few days with Chris and the guys. I have purposely allowed a few extra slack days to be able to enjoy Mt Warning and just chill out. I'm really looking forward to sitting outside E3 in the morning sun with some reading, yoga and general shooting of the breeze.

The Big 53
Well I made it to 53. Thinking back to almost 2 years ago I almost didn't make it but here I am still kicking.

Wendy and Nick on the Road
Sister Wendy and brother-in-law Nick are in tacky Las Vegas, on the last legs of their North American tour. We are all looking forward to a fun-filled "Slide and Spoon" night when they return later this month.
Anders Ousback
I was shocked and saddened to hear of the apparent suicide of an old school chum, the well-known Sydney celebrity chef Anders Ousback. Anders was always a little strange but a good guy nevertheless. One wonders what life dramas pushes a successful 52 year old man to take his own life. I guess you had to be there to know.
